Disability Employment Services

Disability Employment Services (DES) provide eligible job seekers with disability, injury or health condition access to individually tailored and comprehensive services including capacity building, training, work experience and other interventions to help participants obtain and maintain suitable employment. Services may include:

  • Developing an individualised Employment Pathway Plan (EPP) to help you find work
  • Providing vocational assistance (such as referral to education, training or work experience)
  • Providing non-vocational assistance (such as referral to counselling or housing services)
  • new point
  • Providing job search assistance (such as Job Club, resume development, submitting applications, interview preparation)
  • Providing support when you are in a job (including job design, workplace modifications, on-site training)
  • Providing support to your Employer (including wage subsidies, supported wages, co-worker education)
  • Providing on-going support for your employment for as long as needed (as assessed by Ongoing Support Assessors (OSA)
  • Providing regular contact

There are two separate programs within Disability Employment Services:

  • Disability Management Service (DMS)
  • Employment Support Service (ESS)
